EcoCongregation Award - 2005
KNIGHTSRIDGE CHURCH IS AWARDED AN ECO-CONGREGATION AWARD

Livingston Ecumenical Parish, Knightsridge Church's Community Butterfly Garden, Sponsored by Central Scotland Forest Trust, was officially opened by Councillor Bruce Ferrie on 11th September 2005.

The assessors for the award particularly commended the congregation for the following:

* "the links made with worship and faith at every stage of    the project, particularly in the dedication service."

* "the very visible benefit with the Butterfly Garden gives  
  to the local community and the visible witness to the
  church's care for creation"

* "the involvement of local businesses and  organisations 
  in providing funding and  recycled materials"

* "the energy and enthusiasm of the young people who 
  carried out the work"
